Availability
Our aim is to respond to your inquiry within three hours. We provide out of hours appointments and weekend appointments and DO NOT charge extra for them. Your first face to face appointment from our first contact by phone will be no later than 7 business days – if we cannot see you within 7 business days you will be offered a phone appointment within 48 hours. Will you keep my information confidential?
Everything you tell us is confidential and we take this trust very seriously. It will not be breached unless the safety of yourself or others is at risk or—in rare circumstances—when information is requested from us by way of a warrant or subpoena. This will be explained to you in more detail at the first session.
Will you respect my religious beliefs, spirituality, culture or sexuality?
We are respectful of all people’s faiths, beliefs, cultures and sexuality. It’s not the role of the counsellor to force their world view or opinions onto you. It’s the role of the counsellor to help you to understand the circumstance you find yourself in and to help you identify alternative ways to overcome your issue.
Are you qualified and ethical?
I’ve been working in the area of counselling for 20 years and have a Master of Counselling and a Certificate IV in Professional Life Coaching.
I hold the highest level of membership with the two peak bodies for counselling in Australia—Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and Australian Counselling Association (ACA). I’m also accredited to provide professional supervision to PACFA and ACA members, and I’m also an Associate member of the Australasian Association of Supervision (AAOS).
I have Professional Certified Coach (PCC) membership with the world’s largest coaching association—International Coach Federation (ICF).
Being a member of several professional associations means that I am required to abide by their ethical guidelines.
I strive to be professional and ethical at all times in my relationships with clients and as a business owner. My personal boundaries include the preclusion of personal relationships with clients outside of counselling, confidentiality and the non-hugging of clients. I am unable to receive a gift or hug from a client.
Can I get a Health Fund rebate?
Most private health funds do not, at this point, cover counselling fees. Check with your provider to see what they will or will not cover.
Can I get a Medicare rebate?
No, at this point, you cannot be referred to see us through a Medicare Mental Health Care Plan.
Relationship counselling or coaching are not covered by Medicare.
To receive a Medicare rebate, you must see a registered psychologist or a mental health social worker through a Mental Health Care Plan prepared by a GP.
What is your service area?
While we offer face to face counselling Bundaberg, with Skype appointments we offer our services to people across Australia. We even have international clients.
